Terrace - Privacy Screening

For those of you that are interested in what the basic privacy screening looks like in the upper terrace here you go. We had overlook privacy concerns on the Terrace/Lounge side of our house. Our house upper bedrooms and terrace overlooks our neighbours windows/rooms and this isn't allowed.
We had to include opaque glass and terrace privacy screening to protect against overlooking. It wasn't ideal because this side also has the best view over the suburbs but rules are rules. Our neighbours have a pergola blocking any sort of view into their windows and rooms but we have to conform to the rules anyway. We were quite concerned that we would feel very 'enclosed' but it hasn't turned out too bad and it might even remain in place after handover even though we had other plans.

The terrace includes a solid dwarf wall on the side and rear opening and also modwood screening upto 1.7 meters too. The space does feel quite enclosed but not quite as bad as we were expecting.

All up the opaque windows in cathedral glazing, the dwarf walls and modwood screening cost just under $6000 with the terrace screening being about $5700 alone.

Here's the photos.

    1. Hi Barry, Thanks for the feedback on the blog. I’ve got a few updates and new posts coming up shortly. We don’t have an official date but the supervisor is working towards Friday 27th October 2017. This is actually going to be the topic of an upcoming blog post. As it has worked out we are now on very tight time constraints (build is 2 weeks over contract) and it’s really tricky to book anything in advance without some sort of certainty around handover. If it all works out we’ll get the keys Friday, move our things Saturday/Sunday, have some new Furniture delivered Saturday, have Curtains installed Saturday, clean up our current house Monday ready for settlement on Tuesday. We didn’t plan it to have such tight timeframes it’s just worked out this way.
