Render is... Nearly done!

Our brickwork has been a lengthy process so it was good to see the render applied to the bricks. The renderers came by a few weeks ago and did the first coat of render getting it ready for the final colour coating.

Painting is almost complete.

I still find it really interesting that it seems like nothing much happens to a certain part then in the blink of an eye painting if finished - well almost. It's about a month ago that our painting first started and after a few hold ups because of other things going on,

Painting is underway

Yes, that's correct. Brick laying hasn't finished but they have started the painting in our house. I takes a day or 2 to go through the house before the first coat of paint is applied. As I guess a lot of families do, we spend a lot of time

Cornices & Plaster finishing

The plaster finishing took about 2 to 2.5 days. They installed the internal and external corners on walls, ceiling and bulkheads. Patched all of the joints and filled all of the joints and other areas that required finishing. Sanding of the filler was done a couple of days later.

Update August/September 2016

Time goes so quick.

The last few months have been very busy including our tender appointments, yes appointment's', and contract signing. We had 2 tender appointments because at our first appointment we didn't feel comfortable signing. It felt a bit rushed at the eleventh hour. We knew our site costs were going to be high but couldn't get costings until tender. It made it difficult to make decisions on what we can include and what we can't. At the tender they still
