Cornices & Plaster finishing

About a week ago the plaster was hung then this week the plaster finishing crew were back along with the cornice installer.

The plaster finishing took about 2 to 2.5 days. They installed the internal and external corners on walls, ceiling and bulkheads. Patched all of the joints and filled all of the joints and other areas that required finishing. Sanding of the filler was done a couple of days later.

Our cornices were installed towards the end of the week by a lone ranger. He worked alone and worked late into the evening, Saturday and finished Sunday. I turned up on Friday evening and he was there so I didn't bother going in. I went back Saturday early afternoon and he was still there so I went in anyway. I had a quick chat and he said he would likely finish tomorrow being Sunday. By Monday the walls, ceilings and cornice joins were sanded smooth.

The cornices we have chosen are Tempe 90mm decorative for living areas and regular 70mm cove cornice everywhere else. In the master ensuite we have chosen floor to ceiling tiles with cornice on a couple of walls so the cornice gets completed after tiles. I don't understand why that is but they tell me that's how its done. The decorative cornice is part of the prestige build level and included in the base price.

Photos don't show the detail to well but here you go...
